AMSD® EasyTalk™ VoIP client ("Internet phone")

AMSD® EasyTalk™ is a VoIP client ("Internet phone") enabling voice conversation between two Internet or LAN users or between a network user and a regular phone subscriber.

AMSD® EasyTalk™ is the first Russian Internet phone; the first stable version was released in 1997 and test versions even earlier.

AMSD® EasyTalk™ build 2.2 RC allows the following call and conversation directions: phone-to-computer, computer-to-phone over AMSD® TalkServer™ gateway; computer-to-computer over direct network connection.

AMSD® EasyTalk™ may be used as a standalone application or integrated into a complex communication solution.

AMSD company offers both a commercial version of AMSD® EasyTalk™ VoIP client and a free trial version of AMSD® EasyTalk.

  • Prehistory of AMSD® EasyTalk™
AMSD® EasyTalk™, as well as AMSD® Ariadna™ web browser, follows AMSD's long-run strategy of high-end internetworking applications development and promotion (in Russia and abroad as well). Since these software products are designed in Russia they carefully take Russian national peculiarities into consideration. The next steps of the strategy were AMSD® TAlkServer™ VoIP gateway and AMSD® BillingSystem™ for telephony service providers.

  • Enhanced speech transmission protocol
AMSD® EasyTalk™ works fine even at low data transmission speed. Data transmission technology monitors and reduces, if possible, transmission losses of sound packets. That's what AMSD EasyChannel™, a special voice transmission protocol, was designed for (and improved in the recent versions of EasyTalk).
  • Calls from AMSD EasyTalk™ to a regular telephone
A new feature of AMSD EasyTalk™, presented in version 2.2.RC, is the ability to call not only a computer user but also a regular phone user, with AMSD® TalkServer™ VoIP gateway as the mediator. You can also use the gateway to call from a regular telephone to AMSD EasyTalk™.
  • Directory server
Conventional telephony identifies each subscriber by his unique telephone number. IP telephony uses the network (IP) address for the same purpose. The new problem is instability of IP, as it may be "dynamic" and change every tyme you connect to Internet.

AMSD® EasyTalk™ directory server solves the problem. On connection to the directory server you receive the list of all currently connected subscribers and can call any subscriber from the list. Moreover, you get listed yourself, so that other subscribers could call you.

AMSD® EasyTalk™ runs under Windows 95, Windows 98 and Windows NT (original and clones) on Intel x86 platforms. Russian and English interfaces are available.
